Program Components
- Business Development
- Technical assistance
- Human resource development
- Executive Mentoring
As part of The Coca-Cola Company's commitment to diversity, we have established the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) Supplier Mentoring Program.
The program's objectives are to work closely with MWBEs to enhance their competitiveness and to support growth in these business communities. The focus of this formal training and developmental program is to better prepare protégés to meet the business needs of The Coca-Cola Company and to create conditions for them to competitively seek contracts and business opportunities.
Who Qualifies for the Mentoring Program
Qualifying companies are certified MWBEs who are current vendors to The Coca-Cola Company. We set high standards of performance for our Company and the products and services we produce; therefore we expect the same high standards from our suppliers. Qualifying suppliers must have a good track record and other quality products and services.
Participating suppliers are required to have a business plan and financial resources based on industry standards. Suppliers must also possess the flexibility and resources required to accommodate growth.
What We Expect From You
- Supplier must commit to its own development and take ownership of the development process.
- Supplier must be open for the mentoring team to understand its business and vision for next level of business performance.
What You Can Expect From Us
As co-owners of the Mentoring Program, we will offer protégés a wide range of resource support and educational training. Initially, protégés will undergo a comprehensive evaluation, which will enable our team of experts to develop an individualized action plan.
Together, along with the protégé company, we will develop objectives, action items and timelines. We will analyze the protégés products or services and match them with the Company's needs.
Our team of experts will facilitate coaching sessions, assist in accessing credit through third party financial institutions and work onsite at your location to consult you on business strategies.
"Enhancing the capabilities of these small business owners helps create a positive impact on economic development in local communities and increases the business opportunities these companies have within the Coca-Cola system,” according to Evette Blackmon, Supplier Diversity Project Manager.
